Chattragram, March 14 -- Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Thursday sought cooperation from the people to eradicate illegal drugs, recalling the cooperative role they played in controlling militancy.

The Home Minister wanted the people's support for elimination of drugs while addressing an anti-drug and anti-militancy rally after visiting Raozan police station in Chattagram on Thursday.

He said, "A vested quarter had started propaganda in the name of militancy through targeted killings to make the country ineffective. As the Prime Minister called upon the countrymen to stand against militancy, the people took a stand against militancy by responding to her call. Bangladesh is militant-free in collaboration with the people."
