, April 9 -- Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sheikh Mohammad Sajjat Ali on Wednesday said that the police are planning extensive security measures for the upcoming Pohela Boishakh celebrations in the capital.

The DMP Commissioner said this at a coordination meeting held at the DMP headquarters in the city's Minto Road on Wednesday.

The top officer of the DMP said that the Pohela Boishakh is a festival close to the heart of every Bengali. As in previous years, various organisations will host several events across different locations in Dhaka city on the occasion of Pohela Boishakh.
