, Feb. 5 -- The headmaster of Tetoia Primary School in Chandpur district has been suspended over the death of a student.

Assistant Primary Education officer of District Primary Education office Mosaddek Hossain said the headmaster was suspended on charge of negligence after getting a probe report on Wednesday.

Earlier, eight assistant teachers of the school were suspended.

Fire Service strengthens safety measures at Ijtema ground

Samia Akter, 6, a pre-primary student of the school, sustained burn injuries in a fire while playing on the playground of the school on January 21. The fire broke out at the school grounds on that day.

Samia succumbed to her injuries on January 26.
