Dhaka, May 23 -- The High Court on Thursday deferred to June 20 the verdict of a writ over paying Tk 1 crore in compensation to the family of Rajib Hossain.

The bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice MD Khairul Alam fixed the date.

After concluding a hearing on the rule on May 19, the court fixed Thursday (today) to deliver the verdict.

Lawyer Ruhul Kuddus stood for the writ, lawyer Mohammad Rafiul Islam for Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation and deputy attorney general Motaher Hossain for the state.

Rajib lost his right arm after it got stuck between two buses at Bangla Motor on April 4 last year. He succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital 11 days later.
