Dhaka, Jan. 25 -- The High Court on Sunday issued a contempt of court rule against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin for allegedly violating its order to dispose of an application seeking registration of Krishak Sramik Janata Party as a political party.

The HC bench of Justice Fahmida Quader and Justice Md Ashif Hasan issued the rule following a contempt petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer Md Yunus Ali Akond.

The court asked CEC AMM Nasir Uddin to respond to the rule within four weeks.
