Dhaka, Aug. 9 -- LGRD Minister Md Tajul Islam on Friday said the government is working round the clock to tackle the dengue outbreak.

"Everyone needs to work throughout the year to prevent dengue," he said after taking part in a mosquito control and cleanliness drive in city's Mohammadpur town hall area.

He urged city dwellers to keep their residences and adjacent areas clean to prevent the spread of dengue.

Dhaka has been at the centre of dengue outbreak. The government said 36,668 dengue patients had been hospitalised since January. Of these, 25,583 were admitted to hospitals in the capital alone. So far, 27,876 patients have recovered.
