, Dec. 3 -- Rashed Khan, general secretary of Gono Odhikar Parishad, has warned that the Election Commission will face protests if Awami League allies and dummy candidates take part in the next national elections.

He made the remarks on Wednesday evening after a road rally at Hatgopalpur Bazar in Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila.

Rashed said that if Awami League members contest elections as independent candidates with money or foreign backing, the people will resist. He also warned that a movement could be formed against the interim government if it shows flexibility toward such participation.
