Dhaka, Jan. 25 -- French Ambassador to Bangladesh Jean-Marc Sere-Charlet on Sunday met Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman, reiterating France's support for the holding of 'fair, free, and peaceful' elections.

France hopes that this 'decisive vote' for the future of Bangladesh will bring to power a government that will be committed to meeting the legitimate aspirations of all Bangladeshi people, said the French Embassy in Dhaka.
