Dhaka, Feb. 2 -- A Dhaka court on Monday sent former Managing Director (MD) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Shafiqur Rahman, his wife and two others to jail in a case filed over torturing domestic help.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Ehsanul Islam passed the order when sub-inspector of Uttara West Police Station, Romer Mia produced them before the court in the case.

The court also rejected the bail petitions of four people when Advocate Zakir Hossain filed a petition seeking their bail.

Earlier on Sunday, police arrested Shafiqur, his wife Bithi and two other domestic helpers of the house-Rupali Khatun and Sufia Begum in connection with torturing a domestic help from Uttara area of the capital.
