Dhaka, Sept. 16 -- Bangladesh Election Commission Officers Association has sought formation of election commission service and assigning the responsibility of conducting national election to the Commission's own officials.

"In line with the recommendation of the Electoral System Reform Commission, it is necessary to take prompt and effective steps to promulgate the 'Election Commission Secretariat (Amendment) Ordinance-2025' and take effective steps for forming the 'Election Commission Service as well as assign the responsibility of EC's own officials,'" said the association's convener Mohammad Monir Hossain at a press conference at the EC media centre in Agargaon.
