Dhaka, July 30 -- Police have arrested five people in connection with the attacks on minority families in Rangpur after a Hindu youth allegedly made derogatory remarks on Islam on social media, triggering outrage.

The arrests follow a case filed by Rabindranath Roy, a local man, according to a statement issued from the Police Headquarters (PHQ) on Wednesday morning.

The identities of the arrestees were, however, not disclosed yet.
