Dhaka, May 18 -- A fire broke out at a slum in Bhashantek area of Mirpur on Sunday, said officials of Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Talha Bin Jasim, station officer (media cell) of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters, said the fire broke out at the Shyamol Polli Slum around 7:55 pm and spread soon.

On information, three firefighting units rushed to the spot and are trying to put the fire under control.
