Dhaka, Aug. 17 -- The fire that broke out at Eureka Filling Station in the capital's Mohakhali area on Sunday evening has been extinguished.

The fire started around 7:18 pm, said Rashed Bin Khalid, duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters' control room.

Upon receiving the information, 10 firefighting units from various fire stations were dispatched to the scene.

Of them, six units actively took part in the operation and managed to extinguish the fire by 8:25pm.

The origin of the fire and any possible casualties were not immediately known, said the Deputy Assistant Director of the FSCD media cell.

No casualties were reported.
