Chattogram, May 23 -- A carton factory was gutted by a fire at Chattogram Export Processing Zone (EPZ) on Thursday night.

Jasim Uddin, Deputy Assistant Director of Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the fire originated at Unity Accessories on the 4th floor of five-storey building around 7:45pm.

On information, 14 vehicles of four fire-fighting units rushed in and brought the fire under control around 10:30pm, he said.

What actually caused the fire could not be known yet. No casualty was reported in the incident.
