, March 23 -- The government is set to inaugurate the long-awaited ferry service on the Banshbaria (Sitakunda)-Guptachhara-Sandwip route in Chattogram district on Monday, under the initiative of the Shipping Ministry.

A rally will be held at the Sandwip Upazila Parishad premises on this occasion.

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, is expected to address the event virtually as the chief guest while Adviser to the Shipping Ministry, Brigadier General (Retd) M Sakhawat Hossain, will officially inaugurate the service.

The launch of the ferry service fulfills a long-cherished dream of Sandwip residents, significantly improving their quality of life and boosting economic activities.
