Feni, Feb. 26 -- A journalist suffered in an attack by some criminals allegedly over publishing news over illegal sand mining near Gobindapur Silonia Madrasha in Kalidaha Union of Sadar Upazila on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as Omar Faruk, the Feni correspondent for The Daily Inqilab.

Earlier, the attackers went to journalist Omar Faruk's house on Tuesday (February 25) and threatened his family members.

Witnesses said when Omar Faruk was heading towards the town, a group of criminals allegedly led by Omar Faruk alias Jamai Faruk, Sohag, Mamun, Tarek Rahid, Russel, and Kiron attacked on him near his residence, leaving him injured .
