Dhaka, May 17 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is recovering well following an eye surgery at Rutnin Eye Hospital in Bangkok, with doctors advising him to remain on complete rest for two weeks before travelling.
"Alhamdulillah, the post-operative condition of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's left eye is stable. By the grace of Allah and with everyone's prayers, he is gradually recovering," said BNP Standing Committee Member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain.
He said doctors at Rutnin Eye Hospital in Bangkok have advised Fakhrul not to travel by air for at least two weeks, delaying his return to Bangladesh.
"As soon as doctors consider it safe for him to fly, he will, InshaAllah, return home," Dr Zahid said.
