Dhaka, April 6 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and his wife Rahat Ara Begum left Dhaka for Singapore on Sunday morning for health checkup.

They left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight around 8:30 am, said BNP media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan.

"Sir and Bhabi have left for Singapore for a health check-up. They will go to some specialist doctors at a clinic in Singapore. Appointments with doctors have already been made," he said.

The BNP secretary general will return home after a week.
