Dhaka, June 29 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday demanded strict punishment for the reported rapist of a Hindu expatriate's wife in Cumilla's Muradnagar and said those who torture women should not be linked to any political party.

In a statement, he also criticised Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, accusing him of misusing his power in Muradnagar for personal gain and thus encouraging miscreants to engage in anti-social activities.
