Benapole, July 30 -- Export-import through Benapole land port remained suspended from Tuesday morning after a strike called by truck and transport owners in India's adjacent Petrapole port.

Truck and transport owners said that they called the strike over alleged harassment by night guards, handling labourers and Clearing & Forwarding Agents of Benapole port in the name of collecting tips.

However the port activities remained normal even though the export-import between the two countries remained suspended. Travelling on passports between the two counbtries also remained normal.

In the meantime, hundreds of trucks were struck in India's Petrapole port.
