, Feb. 5 -- The International Crimes Tribunal-2 on Thursday sentenced ex-MP Muhammad Saiful Islam and five others to death in connection with a case over the burning of six bodies in Ashulia during July-August uprising.

The three-member bench of ICT-2 led by its Chairman Justice Nazrul Islam pronounced the judgment.

The five other condemned convicts are AFM Syed, Abdul Malek, Biswajit Shaha, Mukul Chokdar, Rony Bhuiyan.

Saiful Islam was the main accused in the case filed for crimes against humanity during the protests.

Among 16 accused in the case, eight were arrested in the case.
