Dhaka, Feb. 16 -- The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Sunday sent former MP ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury to jail on charges of committing crimes against humanity including mass killing during July-August uprising.

The tribunal led by Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder passed the order after he was produced before the court.

The court also fixed April 8 for submission of a progress report and the next hearing.

Prosecutors BM Sultan Mahmud, Gazi Monowar Hossain Tamim, Abdus Sobhan Tarafdar, Tarek Abdullah, and Tanvir Hasan Joha were present.

Earlier on February 5, the ICT directed that Fazle Karim Chowdhury be brought before the tribunal on February 16.
