Dhaka, May 15 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday arrested a man in connection with the case of a fatal shooting that occurred during the anti-discrimination protest in Dhaka last year.
The arrestee, SM Kamal Haider, known as the close associate to former Dhaka South City Corporation mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, was arrested in a raid conducted by CID in the capital.
CID's Special Superintendent of Police (Media) Jasim Uddin Khan said the operation was carried out based on intelligence from a confidential source.
