, March 5 -- A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed former justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik on a two-day remand in a murder case filed with Gulshan police station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Manirul Islam passed the order when inspector of Anti-Terrorism Unit and also the investigating officer of the case Aminul Islam produced him before the court with a seven-day remand prayer.

According to the prosecution, Md Abu Zar Sheikh, a student, sustained bullet injuries during the anti-discrimination student movement in Pragati Sarani of Gulshan area on July 19, last year.

He succumbed to his injuries on July 27 at a private hospital in the capital.
