, April 13 -- Former Narayanganj District Chhatra Dal president Zakir Khan was released from jail on bail amid jubilation of his supporters.

The former JCD leader walked out from the Narayanganj jail at around 10:15 am, said Jail super Md Forkan Wahid.

Hundreds of followers of Zakir received him at jail gate in a showdown and paraded the city in a motorcade involving hundreds of motorcycles and cars.

Zakir was shifted to the Narayanganj jail from Kashimpur jail on March 19.

Traffic congestion was seen on Dhaka-Narayanganj link road following the showdown.
