, May 26 -- The Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry has dismissed as "misleading and inaccurate" media reports that the motorcade of its adviser came under attack in Sherpur.

In a statement issued on Monday, the ministry clarified that Syeda Rizwana Hasan, adviser to the Ministries of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Water Resources, visited the Daudhara Garo Hills Tourist Centre in Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur as part of a pre-scheduled programme.

Following her visit, she spoke to journalists and proceeded to inspect a long-term plantation project under the Madhutila Range.
