Dhaka, Jan. 4 -- The Election Commission (EC) has taken an initiative to drop the deceased voters from the electoral rolls around the year instead of a particular time of the voter list updating campaign every year.

The Commission has already formed a committee to ensure the removal of deceased voters from the electoral rolls throughout the year.

According to an office order issued on Thursday last, a 10-member committee has been constituted for this purpose.

The order said the committee, headed by the Director General of the National Identity Registration Wing, will work to keep the process of removing deceased voters active year-round.
