Dhaka, Jan. 9 -- The Election Commission (EC) on Friday dismissed reports claiming that elections in the Pabna-1 and Pabna-2 constituencies had been postponed.

"The information attributed to the EC is not correct," the commission said in a handout issued this afternoon, requesting that the news broadcast on the matter be withdrawn or stopped.

Earlier, several television channels and media outlets reported that the EC had suspended the election process in the Pabna-1 and Pabna-2 constituencies following an order from the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court over a dispute related to the demarcation of the two seats.
