Dhaka, Nov. 18 -- The Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) on Tuesday recommended direct government-to-government procurement of e-passport booklets and related training under a project titled "Introduction of E-Passport and Automated Border Control Management in Bangladesh."

The recommendation came from a meeting the CCGP held at the Cabinet Division conference room at the secretariat with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

The Home Ministry placed the procurement proposal at Tk 1,692 crore, with Germany-based Veridos GmbH selected as the supplier after emerging as the responsive bidder.
