Dhaka, May 12 -- Students of Dhaka University sang the national anthem at the base of the Raju Bhashkorjo (Raju Memorial Sculpture) on Monday evening protesting an incident in Shahbagh where an attempt to perform the anthem was reportedly obstructed on Sunday.
The protest, organised under the banner of general students, took place around 7pm.
Witnesses said the students rallied in response to a recent incident where a group was allegedly heckled while singing the national anthem during a political demonstration at Shahbagh.
