Dhaka, Sept. 8 -- The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has taken stringent security measures ahead of Tuesday's Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) election, said Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali.

"The police had been preparing for a week to ensure order during the polls. We expect the security to be very strong tomorrow (Tuesday)," he told reporters in front of TSC on Monday.

According to him, security measures include check-posts at campus gates, regular patrols, deployment of officers with body cameras, SWAT teams, bomb disposal squads, intelligence units, CCTV surveillance and patrol by special forces.

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will also join the duty.
