Dhaka, March 16 -- Dhaka University (DU) authorities on Saturday turned down the allegations of vote-rigging and irregularities in the elections to Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) and its hall unions.

No returning officer received any allegation that anyone failed to cast his/her vote or their vote was cast anyone else in the elections, the university said in a statement.

Besides, there was no allegation that anyone was harassed during the election, it said.

The authorities said the students foiled the attempt of those who were trying to gain their political interests through creating an unstable situation across the country unleashing violence and untoward incidents on the Dhaka University campus.
