Dhaka, Nov. 22 -- Metrorail services in the capital were briefly suspended on Saturday night after a drone landed on the track in Uttara.
Metro Rail Deputy Project Director (Public Relations) Md. Ahsan Ullah Sharifi said services were halted for about nine minutes, from 8:47 pm to 8:56 pm.
"The drone was found between Uttara Center and Uttara South stations, which caused the temporary disruption," he added, noting that the origin and operator of the drone remain unknown.
Metro Rail authorities have apologized to passengers for the inconvenience caused by the brief suspension.
