Dhaka, April 12 -- Chief Adviser and Chairman of the National Consensus Commission Prof Muhammad Yunus on Saturday urged for taking forward the reform works quickly in an effort to hold the national election in December.

Dr Yunus laid emphasis on discussions with the political parties and took forward with the overall reform process with the aim of holding national elections in December.

He made this call during a meeting with two members of the Consensus Commission.

As of Saturday, discussions were held with a total of eight political parties.

A meeting with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is scheduled for Thursday, said the Chief Adviser's press wing.
