Dhaka, Oct. 7 -- The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Special Metropolitan Magistrate Court disposed of 257 cases through summary trials in September, as part of its ongoing efforts to curb crime and address traffic-related offences in the capital.

According to DMP Headquarters, a total of 3,931 cases were recorded during the month, leading to the arrest of 3,881 people.

Besides, warrants or summonses were issued against 3,145 accused, and fines amounting to Tk 3,52,900 were imposed.

The cases involved offences such as drug-related crimes, mobile phone snatching, theft, eve-teasing, creating illegal obstructions on roads, and various traffic violations.
