, Dec. 29 -- Train movement on the Dhaka-Mymensingh railway route which remained suspended on Monday following the derailment of a train in Gafargaon upazila, resumed using an alternative route via Kishoreganj-bhairab route.

Railway officials said trains operating on the route are being diverted through the Kishoreganj-Bhairab railway line as an alternative.

The removed section of the rail line was restored at around 4:30pm on Monday, and the coaches of the derailed train were also recovered, said Mymensingh Railway Station Superintendent Abdullah Al Harun.

After the derailment of the intercity Agnibina Express, the Jamuna Express travelled to Dhaka in the morning via Bhairab in Kishoreganj as an alternative route.
