Manikganj, Feb. 12 -- Daulatdia and Aricha-Kazirhat routes were suspended for two hours on Wednesday due to fog.
During this time, five ferries were stranded in the middle of Padma River. Over 300 vehicles were waiting at the four ferry terminals to cross the river.
Nasir Chowdhury, deputy General manager of BIWTC's Aricha Region, reported that at 6 am today, the dense fog engulfed the entire waterway. To avoid any accidents, ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route were halted. During this period, the ferry named 'Gauri' was stranded in the middle of the river with passengers and vehicles aboard. Additionally, 12 other ferries were held at both terminals.
