Dhaka, Aug. 2 -- Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday said concerted efforts are needed to tackle the dengue situation and eliminate aedes mosquitoes, responsible for the disease.

He said the Dhaka city corporations, LGRD and health ministries have to work in a coordinated manner.

"There's no doubt that aedes mosquitoes and dengue have spread across the country. Newspaper reports indicate that dengue has already spread to 64 districts and infected 19,000 people," he said replying to a question before the start of cleanliness programme in front of the Awami League central office for the second day.
