, Sept. 10 -- The interim government on Wednesday said some of the principles of the China-proposed Global Governance Initiative (CGI) are 'consistent' with Bangladesh's policy.

"Some of the principles of CGI are consistent with Bangladesh's policy. For example, Bangladesh upholds the principle of sovereign equality in the conduct of its bilateral relations with other countries," said the Chief Adviser's spokesperson when asked about Bangladesh's position on the recent proposal by Chinese President Xi Jinping of the GGI.

"Our commitment to this principle will endure in the future", he added.
