Beijing, July 3 -- European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday, with both sides expressing a shared commitment to deepen cooperation and jointly address global challenges.
Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted that this year marks the 50th anniversary of China-EU diplomatic relations and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
He emphasized that as the international landscape becomes more complex, China and the EU-two major civilizations and influential forces-must strengthen communication, build mutual trust, assume responsibilities, and promote global stability, reports Xinhua.
