, July 28 -- Bangladesh Trade Union Centre (BTUC) on Monday submitted a 10-point charter of demands to the Labour Adviser, calling for the immediate formation of a National Minimum Wage Board and declaration of Tk 30,000 as the minimum basic wage.

To press their demands, BTUC organised a protest rally that began from the office of the National Democratic Front (NDF) in Gulistan at 11am and ended in a gathering in front of the Jatiya Press Club, according to a press release.

The rally was presided over by BTUC President Choudhury Ashiqul Alam and conducted by Joint Secretary Prokash Dutta.
