Dhaka, March 6 -- A fire that broke out at a slum in Bhasantek area of Dhaka on Thursday morning was brought under control after half an hour of efforts.
Talha Bin Jasim, station officer (media cell) of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters, said the fire erupted at BRB Slum around 11am and was brought under control at 11:35am.
He said five firefighting units from several stations, including Mirpur, and Kumitola, rushed to the scene responding a call around 11:13am.

The origin of the fire and the extent of damages could not be known yet, he added.
