Bangladesh, Nov. 12 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday questioned as to why the government has failed to file a case with the UN's top court accusing Myanmar of committing genocide against Rohingyas as Gambia did it.

"Our independence and sovereignty are at stake due to the government's failure. Over 10 lakh Rohingyas took shelter in Bangladesh as Myanmar has driven them out through ethnic cleansing. Myanmar wants to eliminate Rohingyas, but our government couldn't register any strong protest against it," he said.
