Dhaka, Nov. 13 -- The BNP Standing Committee is set to hold an emergency meeting on Thursday evening following the Chief Adviser's announcement that the next national election and a referendum will be held on the same day, along with the approval of the July National Charter implementation order.

The meeting will begin at 7pm at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan, said BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.

He said BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will join the meeting virtually and preside over it.

Earlier in the day, Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus announced that the national election and the referendum on the July Charter will take place on the same day.
