, Dec. 14 -- BNP Standing Committee Member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain travelled to Singapore on Sunday for a follow-up health check-up, as he received treatment there for a brain tumour in 2023.

The 80-year-old BNP leader, accompanied by his wife, left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Singapore on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 8:25am, his younger son Khandaker Maruf Hossain told UNB.

He said Dr Mosharraf is scheduled to receive medical consultations and undergo tests at the National University Hospital in Singapore.

"He will undergo several tests to assess the current condition of the tumour," Maruf said.

He said sphenoid wing meningioma was detected outside his father's brain in 2023.
