Dhaka, June 23 -- BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury on Monday said his party holds a firm stance against "mobocracy" and remains committed to establishing a culture of tolerance and mutual respect in politics.

"You know, BNP is in a strong stance against mobocracy... BNP will not back down from that position," he told reporters at BNP Chairperson's Gulshan office after separate meetings with Gonoforum and National Democratic Movement (NDM).

The BNP leader made the remarks when asked about Sunday's harassment incident of former Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda at his Uttara residence by a group of people.
