Dhaka, Feb. 6 -- BNP has cancelled its final election rally scheduled to be held in Dhaka on February 8 (on Sunday).

Instead of holding the rally, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will deliver election speeches at different locations across Dhaka North and South on February 8 and 9, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed told reporters on Friday.

Rizvi shared the information while speaking at a programme the party's central office in the capital's Nayapaltan area.

During the programme, newly elected JUCSU Vice-President Abdur Rashid Jitu joined BNP and several elected student leaders from different hall units joined BNP's student wing, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal.
