, Oct. 24 -- Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian smuggled goods worth BDT 1.61 crore and detained one person in multiple drives across Sylhet borders on Thursday.

According to Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB), the operations were conducted in the border areas of Protapur, Sripur, Tamabil, Bichnakandi, Kalairag and Banglabazar.

The seized items include illegal sarees, fuchka, cumin, cows, body lotion, tomatoes, blankets, onions, bidis, apples, olive oil, soap, sugar, oranges, ginger, raw turmeric, and liquor.

A pickup van used for smuggling was also seized during the drives.
