Sylhet, Sept. 17 -- Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized 19 Indian cows along with a large quantity of smuggled cigarettes at the Jaintapur border in Sylhet.
The seizure was announced on Tuesday in a press release by Lt. Colonel Md. Zubayer Anwar, commanding officer of the 19 BGB battalion in Zakiganj.
According to BGB, a special operation was conducted at Ghilatail, located 500 yards inside Bangladesh from the zero line of the Jaintapur border under the Zakiganj battalion's jurisdiction. During the operation, a BGB patrol team recovered 18 Indian cows left unattended. The estimated market value of the cows is around Tk 12 lakh.
