Dhaka, May 23 -- The High Court on Thursday summoned the chairman of the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) to appear before it on June 16 as the 52 products that failed the quality tests of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) are still there in the market.

The HC bench of Justice Sheikh Hasan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil passed the order.

Meanwhile, the High Court issued a rule against the BFSA chairman asking him to explain why action would not be taken against him for noncompliance of the court order.

HC orders removal of 52 substandard products from market

The HC thanked the Directorate of Consumers' Rights Protection for submitting its report on removal of the 52 substandard goods.
